Gabriella & Sam | Hever Castle Wedding in Kent.

If you’re planning a wedding in Kent and you’re drawn to places with history, texture, and a bit of soul, this one will speak to you.

A bride in a white dress walks down a stone path at a Hever Castle wedding, surrounded by bridesmaids in green holding bouquets. Groomsmen in gray suits and hats cheer from both sides, with a rustic brick wall as the backdrop.

Wedding day at Hever Castle, Kent

1. Morning Preparations at The Spa Hotel, Tunbridge Wells

They started their celebrations the day before with a relaxed welcome dinner, and on the morning of the wedding, Gabriella got ready at The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells – a calm, beautiful space that set the tone for everything that followed. No rush, no pressure. Just quiet moments, excitement building, and that feeling you can’t quite describe before something big.

2. A Romantic Italian garden Ceremony at Hever Castle

Hever Castle has this lovely way of feeling both grand and really personal at the same time. Yes, it’s full of history and scale, but when it comes to the ceremony, it doesn’t feel overwhelming, it actually feels quite intimate. There are these quieter corners and little moments that just happen naturally, without needing to force anything. It’s what makes it such a beautiful setting for a castle wedding in the UK, especially if you care more about how the moment feels than trying to make it look a certain way

3. Hever Castle Wedding Portraits | Effortless, Joyful & Real

The space around Hever Castle gives you so much to work with: soft stone textures, open grounds, and that timeless backdrop that instantly makes everything feel a little more cinematic. It’s what makes a wedding at Hever Castle such a dream for couples who want something elegant but still relaxed.

We kept things simple and natural. No over-posing, no pressure, just a bit of gentle guidance and letting Gabriella and Sam be themselves.

We were so lucky to catch that soft, golden English summer light you can’t plan for, yet somehow always hope for. It wrapped itself around the day, from the outdoor ceremony in Hever Castle gardens to the evening’s energy, and made everything feel even more cinematic, without ever feeling staged.

4. Reception at Hever Castle. Speeches & A Dance Floor to Remember

The evening moved into the first dances, Samuel with his mum and Gabriella with her dad. Both were really heartfelt and brought everyone a little closer. And then, almost without noticing, the dance floor filled up and everyone joined in. It quickly became less about watching and more about being fully in it together. That mix of energy, movement, and just letting go is always one of my favourite parts to capture as a Kent wedding photographer, being right there in it rather than standing on the sidelines.

A Little Bit of Magic. Cake & Firewalk

The cake cutting took place right in front of the beautiful Hever Lake, with their family and loved ones gathered around. It felt really relaxed and meaningful, one of those moments where everything slows down for a minute, and you can just take it all in. The light had started to shift into that soft blue hour, with candles adding a warm glow, and it all came together so effortlessly, simple, calm, and truly magical.

As a Hever Castle wedding photographer, this is where the magic really is for me: not in directing every moment, but in noticing them. The in-between glances, the deep breaths, the laughter that happens when no one’s expecting it. All the things that turn a beautiful setting into a real, lived-in story.

Days like this are exactly why I love what I do. Not because everything looks perfect, but because it feels real. From the quiet moments in the morning to the energy of the dance floor, Gabriella and Sam’s wedding at Hever Castle was full of meaning, connection, and so much joy. The kind of day where nothing feels forced, and everything just unfolds as it should. These are the stories I love telling: honest, emotional, and completely true to the people in them.
